Nov. 26th Game Update Broke Every Script

Postby Nellium » Tue Nov 27, 2018 8:38 pm

For some reason after the game updated every song broke.
There's dropped inputs, octaves are changing at the wrong time or not at all and notes that are supposed to be in a chord are being played separately.

It might be a good idea for more of us to bring this issue to the developers attention.
Otherwise years of hard work from this community could go down the drain.

At the very least the issue has been acknowledged by ArenaNet staff.

I have a thread on the official gw2 forums going over the issue.
If you don't feel like looking it up, here's a link,

What exactly were they messing around with for this to happen? I mean, they had to change something very important, no?

Although I can't say for certain, Two major things happened at the same time.
1. Roller Beetle races we're released
2. The fixed some problem with the novelty tab.

My guess is it's something to do with #2, but something else was brought to my attention.
There was a bug back in 2016 that caused a delay between octave changes of about 100ms, which seems to be the same problem we have right now.
Someone probably messed something up, did a rollback, which messed it up more.
Wouldn't be apparent without testing the absolute limits of the instruments, like we tend to do.

Thanks, Lexie and I Am Vz Mama, for digging that up.

Still hasn't been fixed.
Last I heard the problem was passed onto the Q/A and Audio Devs.

The problem is that the octave changes have a 100ms delay, so playing chords on multiple bars just doesn't work.
Switching from highest to lowest and vice versa also doesn't work right because of this issue.

Not sure when it will be fixed. But the fact it happened right around the holidays probably delayed fixing things.

Game updates you share are great. I hope after the game update, there will be many better features.

You're right, you have to go beyond the limits to see the true performance of your instrument.
